The proposed re-development of the town's waterfont is not going to be an easy task. Funds and plans need to be in place, alongside a strategy to implement those development plans. So far many meetings have been held by various stakeholders and work is still on-going as to the direction these proposed developments will take.

 

The waterfront has great potential to act as a focus - or 'unique selling point' - for the town. With acres of sea loch eventually becoming open to the public for marine-based activity, we have much development potential. One proposal is for the creation of a Rail and Maritime Heritage Centre alongside a Marine Life Centre.
